15.3 Lightning

Apparent Death from Lightning.

A STROKE, of lightning will frequently produce asphyxia by paralyzing the muscles of respiration. In such case, the same means for recovery should be used as in apparent death from drowning. Or the apparently dead person may be placed in a current of fresh air, and cold water clashed upon the face, neck, and breast, and warm friction be applied if the body is cold.
