20.13 Shower

The Shower Bath. THIS is also one of the more powerful of the hydropathic appliances, and needs judgment in its use. It consists in fact, of a vast number of small streams or douches, and hence is a powerful refrigerant, as well as excitant, to the system. It is useful to commence this bath, for a time at first, only upon the limbs. It is used by all gymnasts.
